Gooey Bomb

The Gooey Bomb is a new item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It's pretty useful too. Remember in Melee when you laid down a motion sensor bomb and nobody came? The Gooey Bomb Solves that! With the Gooey Bomb, you throw it at your opponent, and it sticks to them and explodes! Are you a victim of a Gooey Bomb? Pass it on by running past them! (Picture below) With new additions like the Gooey Bomb, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be a surefire hit!

Cracker Launcher

Before you ask, no it doesn’t launch crackers. You see, this new item in Brawl fires firecrackers. Actually, it doesn’t just fire firecrackers, it blasts them out rapidly! (Pic Below) You can also aim it with the control stick. Hopefully, most items will have funny, misleading names like the Cracker Launcher.

Crates and Barrels

You remember the crates and barrels, right? You break one open, an item comes out. Well, they’re back. This time around, they’re changing with every stage. Yep, that’s right! On space stages they look futuristic, and on happy stages, they’re presents! (Pics Below) There’s also sliding crates. Just when you’re about to pick one up… Off it goes! The same old crates and barrels are still here, though, so no need to fret. Whether you like the high-tech ones, the presents, or the old ones, the crates and barrels are a part of the series and it wouldn’t be Smash Bros. anymore.

Banana Peels

A banana peel. Hmm… I wonder what will happen if I throw it? Hmm… Nothing. Oh, here comes Mario! Hi Mario! Come over here! Oops! Mario slipped on the banana peel! The banana peel makes an appearance in the Smash Bros. series for the first time. You throw it, and… Someone slips on it. As cliché as it might be, the banana peel is one of the more comical items in Brawl.

Poké balls

Those KOs in a package are back, with old and new. Poké balls, if you didn't know are the things you capture and keep Pokémon in. Now, these Pokémon can be super strong (Groudon) and some do nothing (Goldeen). But one things certain: the thing we've all come to love from Melee is back! Click the poké ball for a listing of some pokémon appearing in Brawl.

Smash Ball

Oooooooooooo… Shiny. That, my dear friends, is a Smash Ball. The Smash Ball is a new item in Brawl. It’s a rare item to appear, as it can only be used once. It allows the player that picks it up to use their own personalized Final Smash attack. The cool thing is it’s different for each character. Hopefully they’re going to be staying true to the character, or else Sakurai will be leaving a lot of people unhappy. Click the Smash Ball for a list of known Final Smashes.

Assist Trophies

The Assist Trophy is here! The Assist Trophy is a new item in Brawl, itreleases characters not in Brawl’s character roster. Fortunately, I’m here to explain it to you. The Assist Trophy is like a Pokeball, only it releases things other than Pokemon, like dogs, samurais, and even turtles that throw hammers. Even if your favorite character isn’t confirmed for Brawl, they still might be an Assist Trophy! Click the Assist Trophy for a list of assists.

Bumper

It’s back, and better than ever! After taking a break from Melee, the Bumper comes back to the Smash Bros. battlefield! The Bumper is exactly what it says. It bumps people! If you step on it, it bumps you away! But now it has a new ability! It will hover in the air like the flipper from Melee and will bump people! Cool huh? Smash Bros. veterans will definitely welcome this addition to Brawl!

Pitfall Seed

If you’ve ever played Animal Crossing, then you’ll know what this little “beauty” does. You bury one in the ground, and then you step on the ground where its buried. You fall through and you’re stuck in the ground for a bit! In Brawl, the concept’s the same. You throw it onto the ground, it disappears, and you wait for someone to step on it! When someone does, they get stuck, and now’s your chance to attack. Plus, if you throw it onto a pass-through platform, you… Pass through! A touch of animal crossing is welcome in the smash bros series.

Smoke Ball

You wanna bug your friends? Do you wanna drive them insane? Well, have I got the item for you! It’s the Smoke Bomb! What the Smoke Ball does is very simple. You throw it and different colors of smoke gush out from it! It’s harder to see in white smoke than in colored smoke, so you’d better be careful! You can bug your friends by hiding in the colored smoke, and they won’t know what you’re doing! You could charge up your laser as Samus, or use Luigi’s Green Missile attack, oh, the possibilities are endless! Sakurai surely must like the fourth of July, first the Cracker Launcher, now this!

Franklin Badge

Were you a big fan of Earthbound? Then you should know what this is. The Franklin Badge is a tiny hard to see item, when you pick it up, you slap it on your chest and it seems to do very little; only it has an extra effect. It can reflect projectiles! So, say you put it on, Zero Suit Samus comes along. She tries to shoot you, but the bullets bounce off of you and hit her! Instant damage! This item should be interesting. Keep an eye on who picks one up because it's so tiny it's hard to see!
