Pit

Series: Kid Icarus

First Appearance: Kid Icarus (1986)

Pit has a pair of wings. But he didn’t get them by drinking Red Bull. No, he’s an angel. But those wings can only carry him so far. Then, he’ll fall down, down, down, right onto a Brawl stage. Pit is new to the Smash Bros. series. One of his special moves is the Palutena Arrow. He fires an arrow, and you control the trajectory! Another special move as I stated before, are his wings. His bow can also actually split into two blades! So, Pit is a double blade wielding, arrow firing, flying angel. Sweet.

Pit's Final Smash: Palutena’s Army

Mario

Series: Super Mario Bros.

First Appearance: Donkey Kong (1981)

That big red cap and world famous mustache could only mean one thing: Mario! Returning from Melee, he's back and ready to rumble! In Brawl, he basically is the same from previous games, the only two different things are the look and the Final Smash. The look, as you can see is much nicer than the Melee model. You can see the stitches on his overalls! Is that realistic, or what? The Final Smash Move is a new concept with Brawl. You pick up a Smash Ball. Mario gets all flamed up (As seen in the picture below) and goes all Human Torch on his enemies. What's not to love about that. A well balanced character, a traditional icon, and a sweet mustache, Mario has it all. Mario, I'm sure, will have a lot of people playing as him when Brawl comes out.

Mario's Final Smash: Mario Finale

Link

Series: Zelda

First Appearance: Zelda (1986)

Link is back, and he's lookin' good. He wields the Master Sword, and he didn't earn the title of Hero for nothing. He has those tradition hero's clothes, but with a cool, darker green look. He has that new, Twilight Princess look, instead of Ocarina of Time's look. Look at how fast he swings that sword! (Pics below) So, he can't talk. So what? He can whoop you in battle! You know who he is, so get ready for the third appearance of Link in the Smash Bros. series, Legend of Zelda fanboys!

Link's Final Smash: Triforce Slash

Kirby

Series: Kirby

First Appearance: Kirby's Dream Land (1992)

Yep. The hero who sucks is back. Kirby! Kirby sucks up his enemies and copies their abilities. For example, if Kirby sucked up Mario, you’d get a Mario Kirby who shot fireballs. This round, pink character can pack a punch! He actually hasn’t changed since the 64 Smash Bros. He just became rounder and pinker. Plus, the best thing besides his copy ability is his ability to float. Kirby gets a number of floats, or double jumps, to help him get back on that stage. But he’s light, so he gets KO’d easily. With Kirby’s unique abilities, he only makes it harder to choose a character in Brawl.

Pikachu

Series: Pokémon

First Appearance: 1st gen. Pokémon games (1996)

On tv, you see him running around with a never-aging 10 year old. In Brawl, you’ll see him shocking people over and over again. Pikachu, a returning character from the last 2 games, is back, and he’s not about to go easy on you. He uses a combination of electric and physical attacks. He's a cute character. But don’t let that distract you. Just when you think you’re finished with him, he comes right back. Pikachu's the electric mouse Pokemon, and he’ll proveto you why he’s the Pokemon mascot.

Pikachu's Final Smash: Volt Tackle

Fox

Series: Star Fox

First Appearance: Star Fox (1993)

Fox, the spaceship-flying, fast running fox is back. Fox is a speed character, so when you see him running, be quick on your feet! In Brawl, Fox got a new look, not shown in previous games. It actually looks quite good on him. His primary weapon is his gun. The gun’s design has been changed along with Fox. Fox's gun shoots fast, but doesn't slow down or stun opponents at all, so it works great for stealing KO's. See that thing hanging from Fox’s waist? That’s the reflector. Remember Fox’s Reflector? That’s back too. It reflects projectiles away from him. Looks pretty cool, huh? With Fox’s speed, he's as about as challenging an opponent in Brawl as you could find.

Fox's Special Moves

Samus

Series: Metroid

First Appearance: Metroid (1986)

Samus is a character with a surprising secret. She’s a woman! Not many people would suspect she’s a woman, unless she’s Zero Suit Samus. Samus uses her arm cannon to charge up a beam. If she’s hit, she’ll have to charge up the beam again. When she’s all charged up, then she fires a powerful beam of energy. They’ve also updated her look, besides Zero Suit Samus, they’ve made her suit shinier and cooler looking. Samus may be a woman, but she is one of the cooler characters in Brawl.

Samus' Final Smash: Zero Laser

Wario

Series: Mario/Warioware

First Appearance: Super Mario Land 2 (1992)

That fat, plump character we all remember has finally joined Brawl. It’sa him, Wario! Wario joins us in his Wario Ware costume, instead of his classic costume, because Sakurai thought players would confuse him with yellow Mario. Anyway, you’ll see Wario do many… uh, different poses, mostly looking like he’s about to eat you. On the site it says, Wario will give birth to a type of martial arts other characters can’t see. My guess Sakurai meant martial FARTS. Whether he farts or not, Wario is a welcome addition to Brawl, ‘cause he makes it funnier.

Zelda

Series: Zelda

First Appearance: Zelda (1986)

The legend has returned. The Legend of Zelda! Zelda is making a return to Brawl. This time she's going with the Twilight Princess look, so she has brown hair this time, and a different looking dress. She still has her magic, and like in melee, it says her movement capabilities aren’t that great. But one thing’s certain: Zelda’s returning to Brawl!

Bowser

Series: Mario

First Appearance: Super Mario Bros. (1985)

The heavyweight champion is back in Brawl for the second time! It’s Bowser! Bowser got a makeover! Look at how realistically detailed he is! You can see the details on his horns, skin, spikes, and hair! Plus, they’ve made him look more fierce! Bowser fans will be happy to know that Bowser is still the same, just with a new “flavor”, as Sakurai put it. Mario will be quaking in his boots when he finds out Bowser’s back!

Bowser's Final Smash: Giga Bowser Transformation

Donkey Kong

Series: Donkey Kong Country

First Appearance: Donkey Kong (1981)

The first member of the DK crew is back! Donkey Kong! It's his third time in the Smash Bros. series! One of his moves is his giant punch, one of brute strength! DK's Final Smash: Konga Beat

Yoshi

Series: Mario

First Appearance: Super Mario World (1991)

Ah, Yoshi, my favorite green dinosaur… Finally, you make it to Brawl. Yoshi, the egg wielder of Brawl, is one of the best jumpers. Not to mention he can now use his egg toss to increase his jump. Now you can damage foes, as well as being able to get back to the stage easier. Yoshis come in many different colors, red, blue, pink, and yellow, but we’ll have to wait and see if they’ll make to Brawl.

Ike

Series: Fire Emblem

First Appearance: Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (2005)

Ike, the main character from “Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance” walks into the Brawl fray. Ike’s main weapon is a two-handed sword, which he holds with one hand. Strong, no? His up special move is Aether, first, he throws his sword, and if you’re lucky, your enemy will be caught by the sword. Next, he catches the sword in midair! Then, he falls downward with his sword, slicing the enemy. While preforming this attack, he isn’t invincible, but he won’t flinch, so if you can start the move, you can finish it! His standard special move is Eruption, which is sort of like Roy’s from Melee. He charges up the sword, and when he lets it go, there’s an eruption! Ike will be favored by many fan boys, as he was one the more popular Fire Emblem characters wanted for Brawl.

Special Moves

Pokémon Trainer

Ah yes, the Pokémon Trainer… The Pokémon Trainer is a new player addition to Brawl. In the Pokémon anime, games, and manga, the Pokémon Trainers were kids, or adults, who aspired to be Pokémon Masters, breeder, gym leader, and a whole bunch of other things. They take place in Pokémon battles, putting each trainer’s Pokémon in head-to-head combat. In Brawl, the Trainer’s role is sort of the same; he stays in the sidelines, meaning he doesn’t fight. Guess who has to fight for him. That’s right, the Pokémon! The Pokémon Trainer’s Pokémon are Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard, Each Pokémon has a special set of moves, and if you need to use another Pokémon, you can switch out at any time. So, say you’re Ivysaur right now. You want to change to Charizard. So you Press Down and B, and you switch Pokémon! Pretty nifty feature, eh? The Pokémon Trainer is all about variety, and fans will go wild to play as Charizard.

Isn’t this just Peachy? Peach is joining the Smash Bros. party again! Peach is thePrincess of Mushroom Kingdom. She rules over many Toads and people, two of which are Mario and Luigi. Peach may seem a little out of her element at first, but you won't think that for long! She brings a few things of her own to the battlefield. She can float just like in mario bros 2, she can also use Toad as her living shield! With her new detailed design, Peach users will be amazed at how she looks.
